At various times we have had need to represent spatially related information with contour plots, that is, the values of z where z = f(x,y). We looked around the web and weren't able to find suitable classes of objects to suit our needs.

So we wrote our own.

We plan to make this application available as an OCX for use in Windows NT applications. Depending on our needs and those of our customers, we may extend this application to include other mathematics and graphing related tools. The code is currently available as a C++ or Java implementation.

Here is an interactive contour plotting demo using data from SWIFT. Some of the data that you can plot represents changes in ionospheric conductivity due to increased solar activity as seen for directly above the north pole in geomagnetic coordinates. This demo uses the Java implementation.
